How to Easily Update Your Joomla Site

This week we'll walk you through how to easily upgrade your Joomla 1.5 site to the latest release of 1.5. Some caveats first:

Sorry ... there's no magic button to move from 1.0 to 1.5 or from 1.5. to 1.6.
If you've made any changes to the core Joomla files, you will need to upgrade manually.
Backup first! (use steps 1 to 5 here)
This solution is new and we now recommend it over the older solution we've previously given out in beginner classes.

Here's how you upgrade:

Go to the http://extensons.joomla.org and download "Update Manager for Joomla"
In the administration area of your local Joomla site, go to Extensions >> Install / Uninstall and upload the component file.
Go to Components >> Update Manager
Click "download the update file >>>"
Click "Patch Package"
Click "you can proceed with the install >>>"
You should see the message "You have successfully upgraded your Joomla! install! Congratulations!"

it's not work for upgrading 1.5 to 1.6 beta, the component can't find any update.
